Reusable Sanitary Pads
We are making these washable sanitary towels for girls in Africa. The things we take for granted are beyond the reach of many school children and so these will help.
Instructions
Cut out layers in the appropriate fabrics:
1 x fleece
1 x sorb
2 x pretty material or flannelette (with wings)
1 x pul (with wings)
Run a zigzag stitch straight down the middle of the fleece layer and zorb layers. This joins the two layers together.
Position this double layer on top of the first coloured material with wings.
Run the zigzag stitch around the upper two layers attaching it all altogether. This zigzag catches in the rough edges. Three layers are now joined.
Sandwich the pul and other winged piece underneath these 3 layers and zigzag around the edge.
All 5 layers are now in place.
Zorb and pul can be purchased from Etsy.
